official announcement on January 17, 2006.
It explores what
this chair means to Muslims and the wider community in Edmonton and
Canada, in terms of the diversity of traditions, cultures and
interpretations within Islam. It does this in the context of Muslim settlement in Edmonton and the history
of Islamic civilizations.
